NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
To book and appointment we will require a referral from your regular doctor, this can be faxed emailed or posted or sent via referralnet to our rooms
Once you have seen your doctor you can phone our rooms on Ph: 5222 8858 and make a time to suit.
According to the Health Insurance Commission it is the patients responsibility to get a referral and ensure that it is kept up to date. Referrals from a specialist are only valid for 3 months. Referrals from a GP are valid for 12 months.
A new referral is required every time you present with a new condition. Please bring your referral along with your completed registration form to your appointment.
It is also helpful if you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.
Please bring any recent ultrasound and/or pathology results with you.
We reserve half an hour for your initial consultation to provide sufficient time to determine your requirements and to answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment.
If you arrive late for your appointment, it will limit the time available to you and may mean you will have to return on another day to complete the consultation.

We are a private specialist medical practice and we are proud of the quality of service we provide.
We require payment of all accounts on the day of the consultation.
Medicare Rebate is applicable to all services and our friendly reception staff will send you claim to medicare following payment on the day. A Medicare rebate is usually back in your account the following day.

There are significant expenses associated with providing highly qualified specialist care, and these in turn determine our fees.
We try to keep our fees and out of pocket expenses within reach to many families with private health insurance.
The Australian Medical Association (AMA) issues a list of recommended fees for all operations. Most operations we perform are charged inline or below the AMA rate.
Patients without private health insurance who are recommended surgery can be referred to a public hospital Gynaecology service, or provided with a written quote for this to be performed in a private hospital.
Fees of surgical services in Australia can be complex and difficult to navigate. We are transparent with our fee structure and will do our best to break this down for you so you understand this before your surgery.
If you have any queries in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us on 5222 8858.

I HAVE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE WHY ARE THEIR OUT OF POCKET COSTS?
Our Surgical fees and quotations are based on the Federal Australian Medical Association (AMA) fee schedule.
This often means that the health fund’s payable amount is lower that the AMA fee leaving an out of pocket ‘gap’ to the patient.
Not all Health fund’s are equal and each fund will pay a different amount for the same item number. This has a big impact on the out of pocket fees to patients.
In some instances the health fund will have a maximum gap they will allow us to bill their members which doesn’t equate to the AMA fee schedule. Unfortunately, this then requires patients to pay the full amount of the surgery fee up front prior to surgery and then claim back via Medicare and the health fund at the schedule fee rate.
Our practice manager will always provide you a pre-surgical quotation and take the time to explain the to your prior to your surgery booking and ensure you are aware your estimated out of pocket costs.
Other out of pockets costs include:
In patient pathology or radiology
In patient pharmacology
